We may have heard that exercise can slow the aging process and studies have found that there is close to a 10 year difference between those who exercise regularly and those who do not. Right down at cellular level is where it really makes the difference when old worn out cells and tissues are replaced with younger, stronger and healthier ones.
People who have a strong and healthy muscular system release more 'growth and repair' hormone HGH. If we do not have enough of this hormone the signs of aging become more rapid. Wrinkles, sagging skin, loss of strength and energy and becoming more prone to gaining excess weight especially around the abdomen are all signs of a sped up aging process.
Right down at cellular level the little caps on the ends of the chromosomes called 'telomeres' shorten quicker than they should leaving body cells susceptible to damage which can cause disease and other unmistakable signs of aging.
But the good news there is a tried and true remedy that can slow and reverse these processes of aging and stimulate your body to produce more HGH which means you will look and feel younger. Strength training exercise is the answer to renewed youthfulness and vitality as it can stimulate your muscles to product more 'youth' hormone.
Without question no other activity has more of an impact on overall health and your looks. By firming and toning our muscles under loose and sagging skin it fills it out pulling it tighter reducing wrinkles and sagging. It is virtually impossible to look youthful without muscle tone. That firm, lean, shapely body that we would all love to own is simply not achievable without it.
Proper strength training exercise increases circulation and delivery of oxygen and nutrients to all of the body's cells and tissues which keep them younger and healthier. Cells become more active and function better and you become more youthful from the inside. As strength is restored to muscles the entire body and its systems and processes become stronger as well.
We all know that a toned body looks better than a sagging one. Strength training tones muscle tissue which increases your metabolism (your body's engine) which in turn keeps your weight down, increases your energy levels, boosts your mood, relaxes you, reduces stress and anxiety and helps you sleep better.
